Membership: Caters for Juveniles, Juniors, Seniors, Masters & Novices
Present membership in these categories 127 (Jan – June 2009). This represents an increase of over 13% on the same period in 2008. (Full Membership for 7 to 75 years old)
Associated members are those people who use the Athletic track for walking or jogging and who are now competitive (Leisure Members). There are 150 people in this category.
Training: Training takes place between September and Jul as follows:
(i) Primary School ages on Monday, Wednesday & Friday on the Athletic track between 7 – 8 p.m.
(ii) Secondary School ages, Third level pupils, adults et on Monday, Wednesday & Friday as above with additional training on Tuesday at 7.30p.m.
(iii) Thursday: Borrisoleigh at 7p.m. in the Hurling Field for all ages.
(iv) Autumn & Winter also sees Club Athletics training on Sunday morning between 11.45 – 1p.m.
International: 24 Athletics have represented Ireland at International level
Competition: The Club competes in the following competitions:
(A) Track & Field
(i) Indoors (January – April)
(ii) Outdoors (May – August)
(B) Cross Country (Oct. – January)
(C) Road Races (April – September) including the Ladies Mini Marathon
The Club has just completed a World Class facility in the Town Park, Templemore, Comprising an eight lane 400 metre, floodlit Olympic Athletic Track which encompasses all field events facilities (Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Putt etc..)
The cost of the project was €850,000 this was funded by €450,000 from the Department of Sport, €100,000 from Templemore Town Council and North Tipp C.C. This means that the Club raised €300,000 over the past eight years through its many and varied fundraising ideas.
The Athletic Tract opens seven days each week as follows:
Monday to Thursday (9.30 – 12.00 noon)
Monday to Friday (5.30 – 7.30 p.m.)
Saturday (10.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m.)
Sunday (10.00 a.m. – 1.00 p.m.)
The cost of using the facility for joggers/runners who are not full embers of Templemore A.C. is as follows:
€2 per night or €10 per month (walker/jogger)
€3 per night (senior competitive Athlete) or €15 per month
€20 per month per family
€50 per person per year (Adult)
€20 per year (Juvenile)
€75 per year (family membership)

As part of the clubs on going Fundraising Drive it will hold a “Gala Summer B.B.Q” in the Spinning Wheel Lounge and Gardens, Patrick Street, Templemore, on Bank Holiday Sunday, August 2nd from 5p.m. – 9p.m. This is to assist with purchasing the remaining Athletic Equipment e.g. Pole Vault, Discus and Hammer Cage. Tickets cost €9 per person or €20 per Family (2 Adults & 4 children). Steaks guaranteed, to first one hundred. The meal is exclusive Baked Potato, Salad, Burgers, Sausages, Hot Dogs etc.. plus a full salad as a healthy option. Music also provided. We appeal for your support. Tickets on sale in the Spinning Wheel or from the Athletic Track Office.
